With the holiday season upon us everyone is feeling the stress that seems common place at this time of the year. It’s important to take some time to remain centered and calm this holiday season. Try these tips:
When you first wake up in the morning take a minute or two for a quick meditation. Get comfortable, close your eyes and take slow, deep breaths for about a minute.
Try to keep your mind clear, don’t think about your plans for the day, there is time for that after your quick meditation is done. Concentrate on slow deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.
When you feel like your minute is up, open your eyes and notice how calm you feel. Now you can begin your day on a relaxed note.
Take a few minutes to plan and prioritize your day. If you feel the stress building during the day, take a few minutes to do another quick meditation.
Remember to close your eyes, take slow deep breaths and try to keep your mind clear. After a minute, open your eyes and enjoy your calmer self. Now you can plunge back into your day.
Before going to bed at night write down 1 positive thing that happened to you during the day. Write a short sentence or an elaborate, detailed paragraph, the choice is yours. Also take in one more quick meditation before you go to sleep. This will help relax you before going to bed and sleep will come more easily.
